Wisdom teeth were impacted and removed and Im feeling sick?

I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed. The two top teeth were both partial impacted and the 2 bottom teeth were completly impacted. I have been doing pretty good most of the day. I am on percocet 10's wich i have take 1 half pill this morning and the other half 2 hours ago. I am also on rx ibuprophen 600 mg and i've taken 2 so far 1 pill every 4 hours. I am supposed to start the Penacillin antibiotic tonight. The problem is I am still bleeding. my chin and my lips are totally numb still ,and of cource I am very sore. The worst thing is the nausea. I got feeling so sick over the past 2 hours and as I was getting in bed to lay back I felt my stomach raise up and I starting throwing up everywhere. I fortunaly had a bucket but now my teeth are bleeding and really throbbing. I rinsed really well and stuck gauze back there again. Im not feeling as sick now that I have thrown up. Is this normal? Thanks.. Im alone and need to know what to do.

Wow you poor thing- 4 at one time is too much- yes you will feel sick from it- it is all nerve related just as if someone gets a migraine headache, they often feel sick and even throw up.


You should be okay now though with that- But


anti biotics may also trigger nausea, I would highly suggest that you don't take them until tomorrow when you feel a little better and the numbness- swelling is subsided.


Get a can of peaches or pears and spoon some of the syrup this will help the nausea issue- gargle with salt water once the bleeding stops, try to sleep it off if you can for tonight.


Lay low, watch some tv, don't do much- allow yourself some recoup time.

Reply:This is probably normal, I had all four of mine cut out at the same time and the anesthesia made me feel sick. Also the pain medicine can cause that too. The numbness and pain are normal. If you are bleeding alot you could call the doctor that did the procedure or even an emergency room just to find out how much is normal.

I would say nausea can be caused by not taking the pills correctly. Did you read all the instructions that the pharmacist printed for you? Ibuprofen usually needs to be taken with some food beforehand (applesauce/milk in your case) and a full glass of water.





There could be a bad mixture of medicines causing a problem, but I highly doubt that. I assume the pharmacist and doctors are not idiots.





The anesthetics could be having residual effects. I know in my case I had some lingering bleeding, and was told this could be the cause. My layman's sense tells me it's not impossible that anesthetics (general or local) could be capable causing a bit of temporary sickness.





You said you went back to bed. You truly should be in bed all the time from the time of extraction to about two or three days after.





Might use ice packs on the sides of your face. Also elevate your head on a few pillows and sleep on your back.





Try to sleep a lot. That's when the healing will occur.





Bleeding should probably have stopped within about 24 to 36 hours at the latest. If it didn't, and if within that timeframe you saw a lot of deep red blood in your saliva, you should have bit firmly on gauze for about an hour. You will, however, have traces of blood for a few days, and that's normal.





Just call the medical practitioner again and report your evidence. (They should have done a follow-up call to you, actually.)

not unusual to feel sick. You need to eat light while on these


meds. Soup, peanut butter sandwich, ice cream, fruit,


cottage cheese, applesauce, etc. So eat something, don't


take meds on an empty stomach.
Reply:This is a lot of surgery to have all at one shot. Yes it is normal to feel HORRIBLE. Try to take an Tylenol PM to help you sleep over night. You should sleep off some of the misery. In a week or 10 days you should get back to normal again.





Good Luck. Use some cold packs on your cheeks to help the clotting and pain. The holes will start to clot and stop bleeding by morning. Put the TV on and try to distract yourself. Take the Pain meds on the prescribed schedule to feel the best you can.





Put some chap stick or vaseline on your lips to keep them from cracking.
Reply:The nausea may be caused by blood you've swallowed. Definitely contact your surgeon if you're concerned about it.


I had 2 impacted teeth and went through pretty much the same thing. The numbness will subside within a few hours, you had them removed today right? I was pretty numb for most of the day but once the numbness wore off I was in imense pain.
