Is it absolutely necessary to remove impacted wisdom teeth?
You ABSOLUTELY need to have them removed. I had mine removed (all 4 of them at the same time) a long time ago and have had no problems at all. Please, get the surgery.
Reply:OMG YESS!!!!

it is definitely necessary. impacted wisdom teeth can and usually do cause ALL of your teeth to shift.... unless your teeth are already crooked, you definitely do not want that.

you will definitely have future problems if you do not do something now.

braces are the only way for you to correct your overcrowded teeth. there are many forms of braces, some less noticeable.

Reply:Yes you need to have them removed if they are not coming in straight. They can push your other teeth forward and can make your front teeth overlap and can be very painful. The surgery on the other hand is not bad at all they give you meds for your anxiety and they also give you gas and Demerol so you will not feel a thing.
Reply:If you've known that you have impacted wisdom teeth, then YES YES YES!!! The wisdom teetch are located near a jumble of nerves. It's very important to keep the nerves unhurt to be healthy. Impacted teeth can disturb those nerves. And moreover, you can damage your other teeth if you don't take those wisdom teeth out!! I'm not trying to scare you, but I know someone who got heart problem because of impacted wisdom teeth. If you're scared of dental surgery, ask for a general (not local) anesthesis, so that you'll be asleep as they do the procedure.
Reply:It is not absolutely necessary to remove impacted wisdom teeth. There are countless examples of people who choose not to remove them and have never had a problem. Of course every person is different. If the teeth are poking through the gum a little bit, then it may be more important to remove them because there will be risk of cavity and tooth decay. Otherwise, if you experience no pain, then you should be fine at this time. If you experience pain and they are poking through the gums, then dental surgery may be inevitable. But it is not as bad as you may think. They put you to sleep and you feel nothing. When you wake up, you will be prescribed drugs to help ease the pain and remember to apply a lot of ice, so your cheeks won't swell. However, if you do decide to correct your overcrowded teeth, there are many options nowadays with braces. You can get clear ones, where you can't even tell you have them. Also, there is not much pain involved with braces. Good luck with whatever decision you make!
Reply:The dangers of leaving them in is eventually they can begin to push on the molars in front of them causing crowding and if they push enough they can begin to eat through the roots of the second molars and kill them causing them to need extractions. Also, the longer they stay the more complicated the surgery can become. However they may never bother you at all.

Remember that wisdom teeth casue problems like cysts, tumours, and importantnly can cause decay and gum disease against the tooth in front of it.
Reply:I had gotten all of my wisdom teeth out several years ago. They put me out and I did not know what was going on.

I do remember they told me to place a heat pack then a cold pack and do that back and forth to minimize the bruising.

I took a strong prescription for the pain.

It is well worth it. I had over crowding bad on my lower section of teeth and plenty of space up top. the only thing that helped me straighten my teeth was braces.

I had them placed 7 yrs ago and it was worth it. I have a Fabulous look now and owe it all to the Oral surgeon and Orthodontist..

What a Beautiful outlook !
