I have impacted wisdom teeth - can they affect my other teeth?

How long do I have before this starts affecting other things?

What should I do?

I have impacted wisdom teeth - can they affect my other teeth?
My bottom 2 wisdom teeth were impacted. They were also facing the front of my mouth. If i had let them grow anymore then they would have been harder for the dentist to get out and they could potentially push my other teeth out of alignment. Since i have straight teeth i wanted to keep them that way.

If you have impacted wisdom teeth the sooner you get them out the better. Your recovery time after the surgery will be less the sooner you get them out because then they wont have a chance to grow to strong of a root.

hope that helps.
Reply:You probably need to have them removed asap.
Reply:Yes, they can cause problems for your other teeth. Have them removed as soon as you can so they dont inflict any more damage. Right now I only need one removed, but I'm still dreading it :-x
Reply:Better consult your dentist. I got mine removed already, by surgery. Your dentist needs to check for your tooths position after your teeth had been x-rayed so he may assess if it needs to be removed the soonest. As it will affect your other teeth, better ask the expert, but surely you'll be having a sollen gum first if that will be the case.
Reply:Hi! Impacted wisdom teeth can apply pressure to the teeth in front of them and cause pain and damage to the nerve, but for the most part there are other issues. Since they have rotated (turned out of place) they can not erupt properly and will continue to grow and try to find a place to go. You have 2 major nerves, one is each jaw. If the wisdom tooth applies too much pressure or in a rare case the root wraps around the nerve, you could have serious injury to that nerve. This could be permanent. The pressure inside the jaw will also cause headaches, jaw pain and ear ringing. This will only get worse. Waiting is not an option if you already have pressure and pain. You need to have them out by an Oral Surgeon that can put you to sleep and make this as pleasant as possible. If you have any other questions, please ask, I will help in any way that I can. Marie
