I have another question about an Infected Impacted Wisdom Tooth?

Ya, i have an infected and impacted wisdom tooth on my booth left side. It has made the gum area red, swollen, and bleeds sometimes. That side of the throat is really sore too. I just called back my dentist, and he said the earliest he can get me in is in 18 days, and he doesnt want to give me any antibiotics until AFTER the tooth is removed. Isnt that unsafe, the wait 18 days to remove it if it is infected? Should i be worried that it will spread or something? What can i personally do to help with the infection besides brushing my teeth

Good heavens! get another dentist! The one you have enjoys your pain far too much. the tooth is abscessing...you should be on antibiotics NOW. and an infected, abscessed tooth should NOT be messed with until the infection is done away with!
Reply:Get a second opinion. If the second opinion agrees, then listen to it.

Reply:This infection sounds very serious to me. I think that if there is any pus or you start to run a fever, you should go to an immediate care place right away to make sure it's not spreading.

I had a cat who got an infected tooth, which her regular veterinarian couldn't handle. It took so long to get her into the animal dentist that the infection got into her mandible. It was a struggle to get her healthy again. I know you're not a cat, but it seems to me that the same thing could happen to you.
Reply:I would suggest using a water pick, gargle with warm salt water and also gargle with Listerine (mint flavored tastes best). Brush your teeth thoroughly 3 times a day. IF your dentist was concerned it could hurt you he would have gotten you in sooner than the 18th. For pain take Ibuprofen it's the best.
Reply:your case is emergence case not for appointment you have TO GET AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE GOOD COVER OF ANTIBIOTIC .

THE INFECTION MY SPREED TO THE BODY %26amp;MAY CASE ENDOCARDITITS

%26amp;may case but in reare case cavernes sinues thromboss %26amp; that mean may case death . so record this to your dintist .

your case is acute piriocorinitis.
Reply:That sounds really odd.... my dentist wouldn't pull my tooth until the infection was gone and gave me antibiotics to clear it up..... I don't understand the reasoning behind your guy's statement. Why would you wait to clear an infection? In 18 days, on anti-b's, it would completely gone.... Go for a second opinion. Try to find someone who can get you in sooner too! My infection spread to my sinus'! The barrier between your mouth and your brain cavity is very thin and infection can pass through it quite easily. Definitely find another dentist to see what they have to say. Good Luck, I've been there!
