Vicodin is your friend.
I am getting my impacted wisdom teeth removed in two weeks - what can I do for the pain in the meantime?
Oragel or Ambesol
Reply:The best thing to do would be to ask the person who is going to be removing your wisdom teeth, or if he/she's not available, ask your dentist.
Reply:painkillers
Reply:Go to the pharmacy ask for oil of clove and put it on the teeth.
Reply:Tylenol and cold, thick drinks like milkshakes.
Reply:I had 1 impacted tooth out at a time and I found that it healed quite well. I had it done on a Friday afternoon, slept for the rest of the day and Saturday; by Sunday, I had Mexican food...beans, of course and not chips. Advil worked best for me and I didn't need to take the Rx medicine they gave to me.
Reply:well...if tylenol?asprin isn't working, sometimes your dentist will prescribe a pain reliever...like vicodin or codene. You should call the dentist and see if they can help until then
Reply:There is no pain but swelling. Remember there is no pain because you are going to get local anesthesia and pain killer , so don't worry
Reply:I am so sorry that you have impacted wisdom teeth. They do cause chronic pain. I never found a way to alleviate the pain except for aspirin. I even tried melting aspirin in warm water and using the mixture as a mouthwash.
I sincerely hope your removal procedures go easily and the healing is pain free. I was left with some nerve damage and still have some numbness in my lower lip.
Reply:I'm having mine removed on Thursday, all 4 of them.
I've been taking Ibuprofen for the swelling and discomfort. Also I have Orajel medicated tooth swabs, they are q-tips that you break and apply to the pain site, they work really well for me.
Reply:tell them your in pain....they will usually bump up the date for you or prescibe something for the meantime!
Reply:Ice Ice Baby. (sorry that was a song) I remember what that pain is like and I feel for ya. Suck on ice (not chew bad for your teeth) while trying to keep the ice in the posterior area of your mouth where the pain is. Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) can also help. However for the ibuprofen to work properly you should be taking it every six hours so that it stays in your system. You can also take Aleve, or Tylenol, however I don't think that Tylenol works as well. Make sure that you are not allergic to Ibuprofen. I personally don't take aleve because you can only take it every twelve hours, and my pain always seems to get worse (headaches) before the twelve hours is up. Anbesol/Orajel can help but not all that much. You will be applying it all day which can upset your stomach. Good luck.
