I assume that I have an impacted wisdom tooth on the lower left side of my jaw, half of the tooth is exposed, while the other half is still buried under my gums, and it has been swelling and paining me for two days. Any suggestions on what I should do? [The bottome right side is like that, but it isn't swelling or paining me. The top left tooth is fully exposed [I think] and the upper right tooth isn't even there]
Other Info:
I am 13 years old and I'm getting braces next month.
Impacted Wisdom Tooth?
You really should consult a Dentist. If you need a good Dental Plan:

You don't want to guess at something like this, it can become worse during the waiting process.
Take Care!
Reply:AT 13 THERE IS NO WAY THIS WOULD BE THIRD MOLAR, AKA WISDOM TOOTH). MOST PEOPLE START TO GET THESE BETWEEN 17-24 YEARS OF AGE. THIS MAY BE A MAL-POSITIONED SECOND MOLAR. SEE A DENTIST FOR PROPER DIAGNOSIS.
FYI. BRACES ON THIS TOOTH MAY EASILY STRAIGHTEN IT OUT.
Reply:Yes, i had this for years, put hydrogen pyroxide on it about two or three times a day. the tooth is trying to come through, after it comes in fully it won't hurt or swell anymore. just keep that area clean by brushing it often or gargling and using the hydrogen pyroxide.
Reply:It needs to come out. My bottom wisdom teeth were impacted and my top ones weren't. I had all of them puled at the same time. Talk to your dentist before you get your braces. The problme with impacted wisdom teeth is that food gets stuck under the gum line hence the swelling. I am not sure is you are old enough to have your wisdom teeth pulled though.
