I am scared of the pain afterwards and the effect of the drugs on my Irritable bowel. I am only being given panadeine and valium, as i cant take anything Nurofen like or cant take panadeine forte... How bad is the pain????.... terrified
I am having my impacted bottom wisdom teeth removed, i cant take strong pain killers, experiences? advice?
I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed at age 28. It did hurt after and I got a bit bruised looking. I think you are in a different country than me because your drug names are unfamiliar (besides the valium). I took percocet for the first two days, which is codiene with acetominophen. After that, I only needed a little ibuprophen (motrin).
You are going to be sore, but able to cope for sure. If you can't cope, that means you should go back because something is wrong.
Reply:you will just feel alot of pressure it will go away in about one weeks time you should be fine
Reply:I had the same problem as you. They did the outpatient surgery using and IV of valium. Believe me I didn't feel any pain during the extraction. Be sure you take someone with you to drive you home. You need to allow two days for recovery. Keep ice packs ready in the freezer (freeze zip lock bags with ice cubes) and a soft towel to wrap them in to keep your face from freezer burn. Alternate between warm towel and cold towels. You really don't feel like food except some warm soup and cool drinks - don't go too hot or cold for the first couple days. I survived and you will too - less worry just don't over exert yourself with worrying. You will come through fine.
Reply:The pain associated with having your wisdom teeth out is different for everyone. I had mine out in h.s. and I swear it took me like 2 weeks to recover. I also couldent take strong pain meds so I had to just take easy stuff like tylenol and such. Now when my friend had his out he was able to attend a party (of course with no drinking) that evening. He was in very minimal pain and only had to take his pain meds like once a day.
Good luck and try not to stress out about it to much.
