Swollen gums from impacted wisdom teeth removal?

I had my impacted wisdom teeth removed a week ago, and I had my gums and in inside of my cheeks so swollen that they woud over lap my back molars. Now my gums and cheeks are starting to recede but I am beginning to bleed because of it! What should I do? Is this normal?

besides swishing with salt water, get a couple of those flexible ice/ cold packs put them in the freeze and hold them to the side of oyur face for 15 - 20 minutes at a time, since the swelloing is not so bad and it has been a whole since your procedure, you probably dont need to do it constantly- almost constant icing right after the procedure helps to seep healing and comfort - for now ice it here and there and it should helpthe swelling and bleeding
Reply:swish with salt water

and if your worried go back to your dentist and see if it is normal
Reply:I'd suggest using ice pack for the swelling but definitely call your dentist/oral surgeon. Bleeding a week later doesn't sound normal to me. Good luck.
