Should I get invisalign with impacted wisdom teeth?

I really don't want to go through the hassle of wisdom tooth removal if I don't need it. The only reason I was thinking of getting them removed was to free up space to straighten my teeth. However, I'm afraid that my wisdom teeth might move back after having my teeth straightened, and crowd my teeth again. And invisalign ain't cheap! Also I had always thought that it was my wisdom teeth that made my teeth crooked to begin with, but I have read that that was a myth. Is that true? I had braces as a kid, but my teeth became crooked around the same time my wisdom teeth came out.

I have an appt. for an extraction this week, and am having second thoughts.

Should I get invisalign with impacted wisdom teeth?
In my opinion it would be worth it to have your wisdom teeth removed because if it is the "cause" of the crooked teeth....then you wouldn't want to go through everything again.

If you don't have them removed and do the invisalign and it doesn't help...then you have to back up and have the teeth removed and have to do the invisalign all over. More hassle then it's worth. Good luck with your decision!
Reply:You need to get them extracted. Especially if they're impacted. Braces isnt going to help your wisdom teeth.
Reply:I would be surprised if you could find an orthodontist who would put invisalign on if you have impacted wisdom teeth. And since they're impacted, the best thing would be is to go to an oral surgeon, have him take the wisdom teeth, heal for a few weeks, then go to the orthodontist for a consult on the invisalign.
Reply:yeah, get those out.
