I'm going into hospital tomorrow, my appointment is at 8am and i'm have 2 badly impacted (they are growing horizontally, towards the front of my mouth) and one (normal growing) wisdom tooth out.
They are doing it under general anesthetic as they said it's quite a tricky job due to the type of impaction.
Has anyone else had this?
I want know roughly when i'll be allowed to leave the hospital (they say it isn't overnight but can't tell me how long it will take)
How long does it take to wake up from the anesthetic and then how long do they monitor you for?
How long does it take to have out 3 impacted wisdom teeth under general anesthetic?
I had 4 of my sideways impacted wisdom teeth out this summer, and it took about an hour (or so i was told-- i was asleep lol). I was allowed to leave pretty much as soon as i woke up although i was quite groggy and disoriented. U will definitely need someone to drive you home. Removing wisdom teeth is a common, routine procedure. Dn't worry everything will be fine!! Good luck to u!!
Reply:Not to scare you.....
But I had mine out couple months ago..
I don't know how long it took...maybe 2 hours tops.
I wasn't even aware of my surroundings when they shoved me out the door to my husband. No coat(middle of winter) and I didn't even meet the doctor.
Please be careful not to get dry socket!
Don't smoke(if you do)
Reply:When I woke up from my treatment, I sat there for about 10-15 minutes, and then they released me to the person that came with me. It doesn't take very long to wake up from the anesthetic, they just have to make sure you have your reflexes (you can walk/swallow some water) before you leave.
