Had 2 upper wisdom teeth, and one lower impacted wisdom tooth removed Tuesday. It is now Friday and I am having ALOT of pain from the lower one. All of my teeth on the lower right side are hurting (in fact throbbing) and my ear and jaw on that side are also hurting. Is this normal?
Had 3 wisdom teeth removed Tuesday, one on bottom right is very painful, is this normal?
Yes and no... it could be from the force they had to use to remove it... OR you could have a dry socket... call your Dentist.
Reply:yes
Reply:Yeah, What you need to do is beat the ******** sh it out of the dentist for being so harsh with peoples teeth. I hate them a ssholes!
Reply:More than likely you have a dry socket, you have to make an appointment TOMORROW or else you will be sorry. They will pack it with stuff that tastes like cloves and probably give you Tylenol w/ Codein or Vicodin. That gives you pretty much instant relief when they pack it. Good luck! I went through the same thing in March
Reply:This is totally normal. I have never had my wisdom teeth taken out but will be shortly and having known people that have had this done, I can tell you that nothings going on. In fact, Later on in the week, it should hurt more than right after the procedure is done. I believe this is because the medicine they used to put you under has worn off. Don't think something went wrong. You're fine. I hope I've helped.
Reply:The tooth that really is hurting you may have been deeper than the others. If I were you though, I would touch base with your dentist just in case. I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out last year and I got dry socket which can be caused from a lot of different things like smoking, drinking through a straw etc... It got badly infected (down to the bone) and it REALLY HURT!!!! Do yourself a favor and call your dentist sooner rather than later. Good Luck Kiddo!!!!
Reply:Lower wisdom teeth, especially if impacted, can be very painful upon removal. My daughter had all 4 of hers taken out and she had some pretty significant pain with hers. The doctor gave her pain pills and she used the warm salt water a lot and it did help. It took about a week for her to really say that it was not hurting that much. So give it a few more days. Use the warm salt water, it does help.
Reply:I had all 4 take out, the bottom 2 impacted. They were more painful than the top fully-in ones. It reached it's peak on day 3 1/2 and slowly went down from there. The gums, jaw and teeth along that side hurt too. If the pain meds aren't working, ask if your doc can phone in a different pain med prescription for you. If it is a dry socket, it will be very very painful. Even sucking in air hurts and it has a foul smell. But if you haven't, book a follow-up appt to see that everything is healing okay. It should be free and takes only a few mins if everything is fine. Good luck!
